Rooted + Ready in the garden

04.20.2025

The days are getting so much longer and the weather is warmer and man.... it feels like the first days of summer in Alabama this week.

We've been working in the garden a lot lately and so I guess I've had a lot of it on my mind - from strawberries and cabbages to peas and tomatoes - we're in full swing over here.

So today I wanna share part three of the Rooted + Ready Series: The Garden Guide.

I've had a TON of requests for a garden post since I started the Rooted + Ready series... so here ya go

(PS - if you have any requests just hit reply - I'd love to hear from you!)

NEW ON THE BLOG: Rooted + Ready Garden Guide

I ain't gonna lie - this is one of the biggest blog post I've EVER written.

And yesterday marked the 16th anniversary of the blog - so that's a lotta posts, my friend.

But in this blog post we're gonna break down everything you need as a beginner to begin your gardening rebellion. From what to buy, to how to figure out what to plant... even a few book recommendations to add to your gardening library and come content creators to follow for more inspiration.

This is a super packed post - so grab a drink and curl up to dive in...

🌿 FREE DOWNLOAD: The Garden Guide Ebook

To go along with an incredibly useful post, I'm also giving you the free download of the printable guide this week. Not only does it have all the most important info from the blog post, it also has printable worksheets and journal pages to help you plan and track your garden ... because that's the key to gentle gardening!

Just a note: I do have this ebook on my site, but it's set as "pay what you want" - so if you'd like to make a donation to help support this series, I would greatly appreciate it. You can find the donation based option here

Midweek Magic Drop Let's create a bit of chaos.... 04.16.2025 A few days ago, I announced something quietly radical:Project Mail Storm: a nationwide, postal uprising designed to flood Congress, the White House, and the Department of Government Efficiency with peaceful pressure. And today? I’m sharing the tools that make it possible. The Project Mail Storm templates are now live and ready for you to download and use. They include ✔️ A letter to your members of Congress requesting impeachment...

The Art of Making Life Magical Calm is the magic. 04.13.2025 It’s been a tough week, friend. The kind of week where everything else fades into the background, because real life shows up at your door with big emotions and soft, aching grief. We lost my mother-in-law a few days ago, just a year after losing my father-in-law, and the sadness has been sitting heavy in my bones. I haven’t been tuned into the news or the noise, because our own family loss has taken up all the space. And if I’m...

The Art of Making Life Magical Democracy ≠ Patriarchy 04.05.2025 This week, I’ve been thinking about collapse. Not in a doom-scroll kind of way, but in the quiet, observant way that comes when you realize the chaos isn’t random. It’s calculated. And it’s cracking. From record-breaking protests to watching Musk tuck tail and run, we’re watching the old guard scramble to keep control. But here’s the thing I keep coming back to: The crumble isn’t the point. The rebuild is. It’s easy to focus on...
