Are we throwing out the baby with the bathwater?

The Art of Making Life Magical

Democracy ≠ Patriarchy

04.05.2025

This week, I’ve been thinking about collapse.
Not in a doom-scroll kind of way, but in the quiet, observant way that comes when you realize the chaos isn’t random. It’s calculated. And it’s cracking.

From record-breaking protests to watching Musk tuck tail and run, we’re watching the old guard scramble to keep control.

But here’s the thing I keep coming back to:

The crumble isn’t the point.
The rebuild is.

It’s easy to focus on the noise. The tantrums. The fear.
But soft rebellion doesn’t just mean standing against something.
It means living for something better.

This week’s blog post is part reminder, part rally cry.... and it’s paired with a gentle guide to resistance that doesn’t ask you to burn yourself out in the process.

New Blog: Watching the Walls Crumble

A look at what’s really happening right now, how history’s warning us (and giving us hope), and how we rebuild better—not just louder.

Because history has something to teach those who are willing to listen....

And yes, I'm all about hexing the patriarchy - but not losing our democracy. Because we don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Everyday acts of rebellion

I'm not gonna point out the bad without helping you find the good. And the good news is this: You don’t have to be loud to be powerful.

This is your permission slip to make resistance part of your rhythm: gardening, letter writing, sharing, voting, mending, storytelling.
Rebuilding with care is revolutionary.

Playlist: Whimsical Sound for Whimsy Gals

This week as I was lurking on Spotify, I found this magical playlist that was too good not to share. If you love Stevie Nicks, Practical Magic vibes and 70s witchy songs... this one is perfect!

I love listening to it while working on art, cleaning the house or basically anything. It could easily be the perfect background music of my magical life.

And it's TWELVE HOURS LONG.

You get to choose where your energy and attention go.
You can keep ingesting the chaos: scrolling, spiraling, reacting…
Or you can take that same focus and pour it into being the calm.
Into rebuilding.
Into joy.
Into soft rebellion.

The walls are crumbling.
But you? You’re growing.
And that’s what really matters.

Wishing you a magical week,

The Art of Making Life Magical Calm is the magic. 04.13.2025 It’s been a tough week, friend. The kind of week where everything else fades into the background, because real life shows up at your door with big emotions and soft, aching grief. We lost my mother-in-law a few days ago, just a year after losing my father-in-law, and the sadness has been sitting heavy in my bones. I haven’t been tuned into the news or the noise, because our own family loss has taken up all the space. And if I’m...
