Just feed people

03.25.2026

Last weekend was magical...

We had our first retreat of the year for Soft Life Society - and honestly it was incredible to spend a weekend with a house full of like-minded souls who were there to support each other and just be together to heal as a coven.

But it also sparked a lot of interesting conversations - like the one I'm sharing today on Substack.

I missed the Sunday post and email because I was just too in the moment to break myself away to be online. But we'll be back to our Living with the Moon series on Sunday, but today I wanna talk about feeding folks...

New on Substack:
Just Feed People

One of the strangest things about growing up Christian is realizing just how much energy gets poured into guarding the wrong gates.

I was raised to believe that “taking the Lord’s name in vain” meant saying “oh my God” when I dropped something or letting a “goddammit” slip when life got rough around the edges. That was the warning. Watch your mouth. Mind your tone. Keep things respectable.

But the farther I’ve gotten from religion, the more obvious it has become that a curse word was never the real threat. What it really means is using God to manipulate people into doing what you want in the name of religion.

Wanna help support the FLM?

The Free Little Market we run on our sidewalk serves roughly 10% of our town each month. And the need just keeps getting bigger and bigger the more this crazy administration keeps doing dipshit things.

When I say "WE" run it - you are a part of that. Your donations are what helps us keep it stocked and running for the past 6 months. And one of the ways we raise funds for it is with the Free Little Market stickers.

They're available with free shipping worldwide - so if you'd like to help us and slap a sticker on your cup to remind you that you're doing good in the world, you can find them in my shop 💞

Playlist: A Vintage Kinda Spring

Spring is OFFICIALLY here. The trees are all greening out and flowers are starting to bloom. All weekend we hung out on the porch having meals, chatting in rocking chairs and just enjoying the beauty of it. Which is exactly what this playlist feels like. Spring in your pocket.

Go out and be kind. Kind to others - but also kind to YOU. Because you are too important to forget, k?

Love you.
Mean it.
Big time.
xoxo,
gina

The Art of Making Life Magical(the newsletter) And so it begins 03.18.2026 I adore spring. It's truly my favorite season. Maybe because I was born on the first day of spring? Perhaps. Or maybe it's because that's the world feels most at balance between the darkness and the light. But mostly, it's because I feel like the new year truly does begin in spring. Nothing is supposed to be "fresh and new" while the world is immersed in darkness. Spring is when the world comes back to life. New on...

The Art of Making Life Magical(the newsletter) Weaving intention into the every day 03.15.2026 The way you do anything is the way you do everything... We've all heard this a million times in a million different ways, because it's an absolute truth. But witches know it's because that's the heart of intention. And intention is everything. When you do things with great intention, that's how you direct your energy on purpose and truly make the most of your craft. So it only makes sense to...

The Art of Making Life Magical(the newsletter) Life comes in cycles 03.11.2026 Far be it from me to quote the Bible, but sometimes it simply has the right words... Because to everything there is a season. Everything has a purpose, even if we don't see it. Sometimes seeing it changes everything. A few days ago when I shared about living with moon phases, I got so many questions, comments, messages and emails asking about the season that women are in and how to work with it... So today's post...
