More whimsy. More wonder. More rebellion.

08.03.2025

Hey love bug - has the world been feeling extra heavy to you lately?

Because same.

And the more I watch what’s going on out there, the more I’ve been craving whimsy and wonder...

not as an escape, but as an act of rebellion.

I’ve been leaning hard into what I’m calling my Magical Pixie Soul era…
and I think you might love it, too.

NEW ON THE BLOG:
Why I’m choosing glitter over gloom (& you can too!)

I’ve been thinking a lot about how we survive times like these without letting the heaviness swallow us whole. For me, the answer hasn’t been to hide from the world — it’s been to show up in it louder, brighter, and with more sparkle than ever. To choose joy on purpose. To live in a way that makes the beige machine glitch.

That’s what led me to create my own version of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl - one who isn’t here to play a supporting role in anyone else’s story.

I call her the Magical Pixie Soul, and she’s part chaos, part wonder, and all rebellion.

I wrote a new post about what this means, how it’s been helping me navigate the darkness, and why whimsy might just be one of the most powerful forms of resistance we have right now.

Pinteresting: Magical Pixie Soul Board

If you’ve been feeling the pull toward more whimsy and wonder in your own life, Pinterest is basically a treasure chest for it.

I’ve been curating a Magical Pixie Soul board filled with outfits, enchanting home ideas, and women who embody this energy so fully it practically glitters off the screen. It’s part inspiration, part permission slip, and 100% a reminder that we get to make life magical on purpose.

While you don't have to use this as your guide, if you want more witchy whimsy, I've curated dozens of ideas that I love (and I'm adding more, too!)

Playlist: Magical Pixie Soul

Every rebellion needs a soundtrack — and the Magical Pixie Soul era is no different. I’ve been putting together a playlist that’s part joy‑anthem, part whimsical daydream, and part “watch me twirl while the world burns.” It’s the kind of music you can bake to, write glitter‑ink letters to Congress to, or just let wash over you while you sip something lovely.

NEW ISSUE: August Illumine - linger in the light

Of course, the place I curate wonder the most is my magazine!

The August issue of Illumine is an invitation to soften into the season, savor golden hours, and gather every shimmering glimmer that life offers. Anchored in radiant sunlight and the gentle magic of late summer, these pages are a balm for your soul—reminding you that you’re allowed to bask, bloom, and become.

Sending you lots of magical energy this week to go off and find whimsy, wonder, love, joy and your own unique sparkle.

Love you.
Mean it.
Big time.
xoxo,
gina

The Art of Making Life Magical(the newsletter) More whimsy. More wonder. More rebellion. 08.06.2025 In the last week I've had conversations with no less than 5 friends about how we're all in a phase of infusing our homes and lives with whimsy and wonder. Maybe it's because the world has lost it's damn mind - or this mercury in retrograde is truly revealing what our souls need? I dunno... but I do know that infusing joy into our lives is the best plan I know to combat the chaos being thrown at...
